Business for Breakfast set for Aug. 28

CHARLESTON -- The State Journal, SCORE and the SBA have announced the August Business for Breakfast is set for 7:30 a.m. Aug. 28 at the Charleston Marriott Town Center's Gauley Room at the Whitewater Grille.

The topic for the hourlong event is "What to Expect from the Generation Y Consumer" and will feature Mark Wolfe of Mark Wolfe Design.

The members of Generation Y -- born between 1977 and 1994 -- are breaking onto the retail and communication scene. Public relations practitioners, advertisers and marketers need to recognize, understand, and adapt to this new generation's behavior online and lifestyle choices based on their dependence on social media tools and online networking.

Wolfe will highlight these points and show how to appreciate the buying power of this new generation of business people and consumers.

There is no fee, but businesses are encouraged to purchase breakfast. Pre-registration is appreciated and can be completed online at www.wvscore.org or by e-mail at score256@wvscore.org.

"Business for Breakfast is an important networking and learning opportunity," said Charleston Area SCORE Chairman Serendra Verma. "A healthy breakfast will improve but not interfere with your workday."

The meeting place is handicap accessible.
