PERSONNEL FILE: Allen Guthrie & Thomas hires two new associates

CHARLESTON -- Allen Guthrie & Thomas has announced the hiring of two new associates.

Robert H. Akers, a 2004 graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law, has joined the firm. He has five years of litigation experience having handled a large number of civil defense cases in several areas including coal related injury cases, mass tort litigation, products liability, deliberate intent and wrongful death actions.

Akers is a member of the West Virginia State Bar, the Defense Research Institute and the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia. He was captain of the Colgate University men's basketball team.

Nicholas S. Johnson is a 2006 graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law. He has three years of litigation experience.

Johnson is experienced in complex commercial disputes and in defending businesses in products liability and consumer financial services litigation.

He is a member of the West Virginia and Virginia State Bars, and the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia.

Allen Guthrie & Thomas is a 20-lawyer litigation boutique that defends and prosecutes cases in courtrooms throughout West Virginia and in neighboring states.
