WAYNE -- A man is suing Subway after a fall caused him injury.
Gerold M. Bishop, a resident of Wayne County, was injured after a fall in Subway, according to a complaint filed in Wayne Circuit Court on Sept. 11.
Bishop claims he slipped on a clear, liquid substance on the floor in the restaurant on Jan. 24 and fell.
The fall seriously and severely injured him and rendered him sick, sore, lame and otherwise disabled, according to the suit. Bishop claims the injuries caused or contributed to an aggravation of a previously existing injury.
According to the suit, Subway took no measures to warn the customers of the liquid substance and did not provide sufficient notice of the hazardous conditions.
Bishop claims he has suffered and will continue to suffer great pain and anguish of body and mind.
Bishop is suing for an amount of money in excess of the basic jurisdictional limits for his injuries. He is being represented by R. Matthew Vital and Matthew R. Oliver of Vital & Vital L.C.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James H. Young Jr.
