Husband sues eight companies, others for wife's wrongful death

CHARLESTON -- A man is suing eight companies, one individual and several unnamed people and companies on behalf of his late wife's estate.

Carl Campbell named Filmore Capital Partners; Beverly Enterprises, Inc.; Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Services, Inc.; Beverly Enterprises-West Virginia, Inc.; Golden Gate National Senior Care, LLC; GGNSC Holdings, LLC; GGNSC Clinical Services, LLC; GPH St. Albans, LLC; Jason Gibson; John Does one through 10; and unidentified entities one through 10, as the defendants in his suit.

Carrie Campbell was a resident of Golden Living Center-Glasgow until her death on July 3, 2008, according to a complaint filed Dec. 28 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Carl Campbell claims while Carrie Campbell was a resident of the nursing home she suffered a fall and a fracture, which ultimately resulted in her death. He claims she suffered catastrophic injuries, disfigurement, extreme pain, suffering and mental anguish.

Carl Campbell is seeking compensatory and punitive damages for Carrie Campbell's wrongful death. He is being represented by James B. McHugh, Michael J. Fuller Jr. and D. Bryant Chaffin.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James C. Stucky.
