Putnam man sues after falling from chair at Sam's Hot Dogs

WINFIELD -- A Putnam County man is suing Action Foods Inc. after he claims a chair he was sitting in broke.

On April 4, 2008, William Fowler was a customer at the defendant's restaurant, which was doing business as Sam's Hot Dogs, according to a complaint filed April 2 in Putnam Circuit Court.

Fowler claims the chair he was sitting in broke, which caused him to be thrown to the floor, resulting in severe injury.

The chair was provided by the defendant to its customers for use and Fowler was using the chair as it was intended to be used and without negligence, according to the suit.

Fowler is seeking compensatory damages. He is being represented by Martin R. Smith Jr.
