CHARLESTON -- A Randolph County man is suing Orders Construction Company after he was injured at work.

On March 18, 2009, James O'Dell was working for Triangle Steel Erectors as a subcontractor for Orders Construction Company, according to a complaint filed March 26 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

O'Dell was working on the Sissonville Bridge Project when he claims the defendant failed to remove an auxiliary hoist whip line from a piece of equipment, causing it to snap, hit him and cause him to suffer a de-gloving injury to his hand.

As a result of the negligence of the defendant, O'Dell has endured pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life and emotional distress, according to the suit.

O'Dell claims the defendant's negligence also caused him permanent disfigurement and damage.

O'Dell is seeking compensatory damages. He is being represented by Christopher J. Heavens and Frank P. Bush Jr.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James C. Stucky.
