Woman sues YMCA for injuries

WINFIELD -- A Hurricane woman is suing the Tri-County YMCA after falling and being injured.

Linda McCall is a member of the Tri-County YMCA and was in the women's locker room when she slipped and fell, according to a complaint filed May 19 in Putnam Circuit Court.

On June 16, 2008, McCall claims was in the locker room when she slipped and fell in the area between the showers and the lockers, which was waxed, polished or otherwise slick and did not provide a non-skid surface.

McCall claims the defendant negligently failed to inspect the premises for unsafe and dangerous conditions, failed to correct the condition, failed to warn her and failed to keep the premises in a safe condition.

As a result of the defendant's negligence, McCall suffered physical injuries; pain and suffering; annoyance and inconvenience; loss of enjoyment of life; emotional distress; and medical expenses, according to the suit.

McCall is seeking compensatory damages. She is being represented by Paul M. Stroebel.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Phillip Stowers.
