HUNTINGTON -- A mother is suing Great Teays Podiatry and Huntington Foot & Ankle Clinic after her daughter suffered injuries from surgery.
Dr. Seth Stinehour, unknown Doe individuals, unknown Doe partnerships, unknown Doe corporations, unknown Doe professional limited liability companies and unknown Doe limited liability companies were also named as defendants in the suit.
On Dec. 20, 2007, Stinehour performed surgery on Leslie Sue Burd, who was then 13 years old, according to a complaint filed June 22 in Cabell Circuit Court.
Tina M. Falcone, Burd's mother, claims Stinehour "negligently, carelessly, hastily, prematurely and without the proper informed consent ..." cared for Burd and caused her permanent injures."
Falcone claims he negligently performed a base wedge osteotomy on Burd's right foot and failed to offer or provide conservative measures or treatment for her bunion prior to the surgery.
As a result of the defendants' conduct, Burd suffered physical pain and mental suffering; anguish and anxiety; and has been required to undergo additional surgery and medical treatment, according to the suit.
Falcone is seeking compensatory damages. She is being represented by T.C. McCarthy.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David M. Pancake.
