Woman sues Discount Emporium for injuries

CHARLESTON -- A Kanawha County woman is suing Discount Emporium after she was injured at its store location in Charleston.

On Oct. 3, 2008, Anna Triplett was on the premises of the store when she slipped on an unseen and unknown liquid and fell on the floor, according to a complaint filed Sept. 21 in Kanwha Circuit Court.

Triplett claims the fall resulted in an acute proximal right humerus fracture with slight displacement.

The defendant was negligent in failing to keep the floors clear of debris and/or liquid matter, according to the suit.

Triplett is seeking compensatory damages. She is being represented by Michael T. Clifford.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James C. Stucky.
