Logan Co. couple sues Suzuki for defective vehicle

CHARLESTON – A Logan County couple is suing American Suzuki Motor Corporation for a vehicle they claim is defective.

On Nov. 7, 2009, Robert J. Brewer and Brenda Brewer purchased a 2008 Suzuki XL7 from the defendant for $16,998, according to a complaint filed Jan. 18 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

The Brewers claim after they purchased the vehicle, they began to experience repeated nonconformities with the vehicle and returned it to the defendant for repairs.

After a reasonable number of attempts, the defendant did not conform the vehicle to the warranty, nor replace it with a comparable new vehicle that did conform to the warranty, according to the suit.

The Brewers are seeking revocation of acceptance and refund of the purchase price; damages for repair costs and damages for loss of use, annoyance or inconvenience. They are being represented by Michael L. Glasser.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Louis Bloom.
