W.Va. Chamber president to testify on EPA mining policies

CHARLESTON -– The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Chamber President Steve Roberts will testify before the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment at 10:30 a.m. on May 11 in the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, D.C.

The Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment is holding the hearing entitled, "EPA Mining Policies: Assault on Appalachian Jobs Part II." The Water Resources and Environment Committee is a subcommittee of the U.S. House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.

"I am very excited about the opportunity to appear before Members of the U.S. House of Representatives and speak to them about the contribution that West Virginia coal mining and coal jobs have on West Virginia's economy and what it contributes to our nation," Roberts said. "I hope to make it very clear that the EPA's 'War on Coal' is hurting our economy and preventing job creation in West Virginia."
