PERSONNEL FILE: Massie to represent W.Va. in DRI

HUNTINGTON -– Robert L. "Bob" Massie, a partner in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP's West Virginia office, has been named West Virginia State Representative of DRI -- The Voice of the Defense Bar.

DRI is the 23,000-member international organization of lawyers and corporate counsel who defend the interests of businesses and individuals in civil litigation.

As state representative, Massie will play a significant role in the leadership of the organization in promoting membership development and retention, in providing a link between the national organization and its members, and in serving as the conduit to reinforce partnerships with state and local defense organizations.

Massie has more than 20 years experience handling some of the largest and most complex litigation in West Virginia. He has handled and tried cases throughout West Virginia in both state and federal courts and has been retained by several large clients to handle significant litigation in Kentucky, Ohio, Texas, Alabama, and Indiana as well.

He primarily practices in the areas of insurance defense and bad faith litigation, product liability, toxic tort litigation, railroad litigation, transportation and trucking law. He has also handled appeals before the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia and the United States Supreme Court
