CHARLESTON -- A former employee is suing Wilson Preferred Services after he claims he was forced to work in and around safety hazards.
James Alexander Sansom was employed by the defendant from July 25, 2010, until Jan. 15, according to a complaint filed June 23 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Sansom claims after working for the defendant for six months, he quit his employment because of various safety hazards that he had been forced to work in and around, which is in violation of safe work practices and public policy.
The defendant's treatment of Sansom was also in violation of safe work practices and public policy, according to the suit.
Sansom is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. He is being represented by J. Michael Ranson, Cynthia M. Ranson, George B. Morrone III and G. Patrick Jacobs.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Louis H. Bloom.
