CHARLESTON -- Charleston attorney Kent Carper, who is a partner with Hill Peterson Carper Bee & Deitzler PLLC, was honored Saturday night by being named the Outstanding Democrat of the Year.
Carper attended the function and was seated next to U.S. Sen. Jay Rockefeller.
Carper currently serves as the president of the Kanawha County Commisision. He previously served as an assistant Kanawha County Prosecuting attorney, and one time Charleston Chief of Police.
Carper has practiced law in West Virginia for more than 30 years and handles personal injury cases, including medical negligence, and serious bodily injury.
More than 300 attendees were present when Carper was presented the award on behalf of the West Virginia State Democratic Party.
