HUNTINGTON -- U.S. News Media Group and Best Lawyers have ranked Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough as a Tier 2 law firm nationally for its corporate law, tax litigation, and mass tort litigation/class actions – defendants, and a Tier 3 in venture capital law.

Additionally, the organizations ranked Nelson Mullins as a top-tier firm in the Charleston area in eight practice areas. The practice areas are:

* Appellate Practice

* Commercial Litigation

* Insurance Law

* Legal Malpractice Law - Defendants

* Mass Tort Litigation / Class Actions - Defendants

* Personal Injury Litigation - Defendants

* Product Liability Litigation - Defendants

* Railroad Law

The U.S. News – Best Lawyers "Best Law Firms" rankings are based on the collection of client and lawyer evaluations, peer review from leading attorneys in their field, and review of additional information provided by law firms as part of the formal submission process, according to the organizations. All data were combined into an overall score for each firm.

This data was then compared to other firms within the same metropolitan area and at the national level. Because firms were often separated by small or insignificant differences in overall score, the organizations use a tiering system rather than ranking law firms sequentially.

Established in 1897, Nelson Mullins has more than 420 attorneys and government relations professionals practicing from 12 office locations in the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, North Carolina, South Carolina, and West Virginia.
