PERSONNEL FILE: McCuskey files to run for House of Delegates

McCuskey

CHARLESTON -– Charleston attorney J.B. McCuskey has filed to be a candidate for the House of Delegates in the 35th District.

"I am seeking election to the West Virginia House of Delegates because as challenges to our state grow and opportunities arise we must be able to plan ahead - not simply react," he said. "To be proactive, we must have a strong and energetic leader in the West Virginia House.

"I am deeply committed to West Virginia and love my community. It would be a privilege to serve the people who live and work and raise families in the 35th House District. This district is my home. I was born and raised in West Virginia. My wife and I have made our home here in the Kanawha Valley. Simply put, my roots are deep, and my concern for the future of this district even deeper.

McCuskey said his priorities are: keeping spending and taxes low, supporting families and small business and promoting West Virginia's vast natural resources while protecting the state's beautiful environment.

McCuskey is a graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law and is an attorney with Steptoe & Johnson in Charleston. He practices within the firm's Energy Litigation Group. McCuskey and his wife, Wendy McCuskey, reside in Charleston with their dog Sidney and are active members of the community.
