HUNTINGTON -- A pedestrian is suing a woman she claims struck her with a vehicle and caused her injuries.

On July 13, 2011, Joanna Sexton Figlia was a pedestrian in the parking lot of Kroger in Huntington when she was struck by a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria being driven by Helen C. Killeen, according to a complaint filed Jan. 27 in Cabell Circuit Court.

Figlia claims Killeen caused her serious and permanent injuries.

Killeen was negligent in operating her vehicle and did not have liability insurance to cover the incident or the total coverage was inadequate to fully satisfy the claim, according to the suit.

Figlia is seeking compensatory damages. She is being represented by R. Matthew Vital.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David M. Pancake.
