WINFIELD -- A Hurricane woman is suing a man she claims caused a car accident that injured her and her two children.
On Nov. 23, 2011, Stephanie Garnett was operating a 1998 Ford Windstar minivan, in which her two children were passengers, when she was struck by a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado being driven by Forest Noel, according to a complaint filed April 24 in Putnam Circuit Court.
Garnett claims Noel was driving negligently and carelessly and failed to maintain control of his vehicle.
As a result of Noel's negligence, Garnett and her children, Addison Garnett and Isaiah Garnett, were seriously and severely injured, according to the suit.
Stephanie Garnett claims the defendant also caused her to suffer a loss of earnings and earning capacity.
Stephanie Garnett is seeking compensatory damages. She is being represented by R. Matthew Vital.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge O.C. Spaulding.
