CHARLESTON -- A Kanawha County woman is suing the Religious Coalition for Community Renewal, Inc. after she claims property she purchased had serious structural problems.
Empire Electric, Inc. was also named as a defendant in the suit.
On July 28, 2008, Suzanne N. Hall purchased a piece of improved real estate built by Empire and sold by Religious Coalition, according to a complaint filed July 18 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Hall claims after the real estate was purchased, she discovered serious structural problems and other defects.
The defendants knew prior to entering into the sales transaction with Hall of the latent defects in the residence and failed to advise her, according to the suit.
Hall claims the defendants' actions in concealing the defects of the property from her constitutes either actual or constructive fraud, which caused her damages.
The defendants' actions were also negligent and were a breach of contract, according to the suit.
Hall is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. She is being represented by Timothy J. LaFon.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James C. Stucky.
