CHARLESTON -– Jackson Kelly attorneys have been named to leadership positions in various industry groups over the last few weeks.

Michael T. Cimino was elected president of the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia. The organization, which was formed in 1981, is a cohesive network of West Virginia attorneys who defend individuals and corporations in civil litigation. Cimino is the fifth lawyer from Jackson Kelly to lead the organization in its 30-year history. Past presidents from the firm are: A.L. Emch, Stephen R. Crislip, Thomas J. Hurney, Jr. and Michael M. Fisher.

Erin E. Magee was elected to the Executive Committee of the Energy and Mineral Law Foundation (EMLF), a non-profit educational organization providing information on legal issues related to the energy and mineral industry through workshops, specialty programs, publications and electronic information.

Eric Whytsell recently was invited to be on the 2012-2013 legal education committee of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA). As part of this committee, Whytsell will recommend possible topics for continuing education workshops and will be working with the organization's staff to plan, select speakers for and implement each workshop. NACUA, formed in 1960, is an organization designed to enhance legal assistance to colleges and universities by educating attorneys and administrators as to the nature of campus legal issues. It has an equally important role to play in the continuing legal education of university counsel.

Jackson Kelly represents global corporations, national companies, entrepreneurs and individuals in areas of law such as environmental, business, labor and employment, federal and state workers' compensation, civil litigation and occupational safety and health. The firm has offices in Colorado, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.
