CANONSBURG, Pa. - Steptoe & Johnson has announced that David J. Grecco has become Of Counsel to the firm.
Grecco joins the firm’s energy law team practicing out of the Southpointe Business Park office located in Canonsburg, Pa. He joins the firm after spending four years as the Vice President of Legal to Phillips Resources, Inc., a privately held Pennsylvania based oil and gas company. Prior to that position, he was the Vice President and General Counsel of Linn Energy, LLC, a publicly traded company, and its subsidiaries. Grecco also served as business law counsel for K & L Gates LLP for eight years.
During his legal career, Grecco has been a key participant in drafting and negotiating comprehensive joint operating agreements for Marcellus shale exploration and development activities in the Appalachian Basin. He also served as in-house counsel in the sale of Phillips Resources to a leading global energy company. Grecco has considerable experience in advising on strategic initiatives including acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures and capital raising activities. He has provided counsel to boards of directors and senior management teams across the energy industry. David also advises on commercial agreements and leasing matters and in facilitating the resolution of litigation and disputes.

Grecco earned his B.S.B.A. from Robert Morris University and his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law. He was a member of the Duquesne Law Review.
