* Carpenter was employed by the defendant from Jan. 3, 2003, until Nov. 1, 2011. She claims in January 2011 she began expressing concern to management regarding care issues, privacy rights of patients, privacy violations, illegal drug use by staff members and possible abuse of
clients by staff members. On Sept. 19, 2011, the defendant placed Carpenter on administrative leave of absence for allegedly creating a hostile work environment for expressing her concerns. Carpenter was terminated on Nov. 1, 2011. Carpenter is seeking compensatory and punitive
damages.

Briana Napier, formerly Briana Artrip vs. Wayne County Board of Education
PA- Timothy P. Rosinsky; J- Darrell Pratt
* Napier allegedly was the victim of ongoing bullying by another student, Rebecca Rowe, at school. She claims her mother informed the principal, who said she would take care of it. On Feb. 23, 2006, Rowe punched Napier in the mouth and caused serious injuries. Napier claims the principal suspended her for three days even though she was the victim and did not engage in fighting with Rowe. The defendant failed to provide a safe school environment and failed to prevent injury to students. Napier is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest.
