Penn Line Corporation failed to pay final wages within 72 hours, suit says

CHARLESTON – A former employee is suing Penn Line Corporation for failing to pay his final wages within 72 hours of discharge.

Jeffrey L. Richmond was employed by the defendant until Oct. 16, according to a complaint filed Dec. 28 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Richmond claims the defendant failed to pay his final wages in full within 72 hours of discharge.

The defendant did not give Richmond his final employment wages until on or after Oct. 25, according to the suit.

Richmond claims the defendant’s actions violated the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act.

The defendant’s actions caused Richmond to suffer damages and entitle him to treble damages, according to the suit.

Richmond is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. He is being represented by Todd S. Bailess and Joy B. Mega.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Tod J. Kaufman.
