HUNTINGTON – A woman is suing EAN Holdings, LLC, for injuries she sustained in a car accident allegedly caused by one of its employees.

Ronald Joe Gregory, an employee of EAN, was also named as a defendant in the suit.

On June 28, Lottie Mae Beckett was operating a 2008 Chevrolet HHR and was at the intersection of Melody Farm Road and East Mall Road when Gregory, who was operating a 2012 Volkswagen CC owned by EAN, negligently changed lanes and ran into Beckett’s vehicle, according to a complaint filed Jan. 22 in Cabell Circuit Court.

Beckett claims the defendant was operating his vehicle at an excessive rate of speed for the circumstances.

Gregory failed to maintain proper control of his vehicle; failed to apply the brakes of his vehicle so as to avoid striking Beckett’s vehicle; failed to keep a proper lookout; failed to make efforts to avoid striking Beckett’s vehicle; and failed to operate his vehicle in a manner expected of a reasonable person under the same or similar circumstances, according to the suit.

Beckett claims as a result of Gregory’s negligence, she suffered injuries to her upper and lower extremities.

The defendants’ actions also caused Beckett to suffer physical and mental pain and suffering; incur expenses for services of hospitals, physicians and traveling; lost wages; great annoyance and inconvenience; pain and discomfort; and permanent injury to her body, according to the suit.

Beckett is seeking compensatory damages with interest. She is being represented by R.R. Fredeking II.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge F. Jane Hustead.
