UNION - A Monroe County student is suing over claims he was harassed while on a school bus.
C.J.L.W., by and through his legal guardian A.W., filed a lawsuit Oct. 17 in the Circuit Court of Monroe County against The Monroe County Board of Education and Richard Bailey.
The plaintiff alleges in spring, he rode a school bus driven by the defendant Bailey to Mountain View Elementary.
While on the bus, the plaintiff was subjected to harassment, intimidation, mental abuse and physical abuse by other students, according to the complaint. The plaintiff contends the defendants had a duty to provide a safe environment while on the school bus.
The plaintiff is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages. He is being represented by R. Brandon Johnson of Stroebel & Johnson PLLC in Lewisburg.
