CHARLESTON - A woman is suing West Virginia Paving Inc. for injuries she allegedly sustained.

Boca Construction Inc. was also named as a defendant in the suit.

On May 16, 2012, the defendants were working on a paving/milling project on W.Va. 61 in Chelyan and Angel L. Bonds was stepping down off the sidewalk to get on her motorcycle when the pavement/curb gave way and caused her to fall and suffer injury, according to a complaint filed Nov. 14 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Bonds claims the defendants owed her a duty to maintain a safe environment/area/construction zone and failed to do so.

As a direct and proximate result of the defendants' negligent and careless conduct and actions, Bonds sustained serious injury to her mind and body, according to the suit.

Bonds is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. She is being represented by G. Patrick Jacobs of the Law Office of G. Patrick Jacobs.
