WHEELING, W.V. -- A local landlord is suing a North Carolina business after it allegedly failed to pay its monthly lease.

Continental Ventures, LLC filed a lawsuit on Sept. 9 in Ohio Circuit Court against Patriot Marketing, Inc. of North Carolina after the company allegedly defaulted on its monthly lease.

Patriot Marketing allegedly has forgone payments on the lease it signed on Dec. 27, 2011 with Continental Ventures, LLC for the property at North Eighth Street. The suit states that after three Notices of Default, (two in 2014 and one in 2015) Patriot Marketing allegedly has still not paid the sum agreed upon in the lease of $10,500 per month.

The plaintiff seeks compensation for the property as of Sept. 1, which is set at $388,500 with an interest rate of 7 percent annum until paid in full. Continental Ventures is represented by Andrew R. Thalman of Phillips, Gardill, Kaiser & Altmeyer, PLLC in Wheeling, West Virginia. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Ronald E. Wilson.
