FAYETTEVILLE – A Kanawha County woman is demanding a trial by jury for injuries sustained in a convenience store, alleging the unsafe environment and negligence caused her prolonged physical and mental pain.

Regina Waugh filed her claim on Dec. 17 in Fayette Circuit Court against Little General Store Inc. Citing an unsafe environment for customers, Waugh claims the store’s hazardous level of maintenance caused her to fall and become injured.

According to her complaint, Waugh sustained an injury in a store operated by Little General Store Inc. on or about Dec. 31, 2014. She alleges her injury was a direct result of negligence, which has caused subsequent mental anguish along with pain and suffering.

Waugh seeks compensation for damages to be determined by a trial by jury along with interests and costs of prejudgment and post-judgment interest and litigation costs. She is represented by G. Patrick Jacobs of the Law Office of Patrick Jacobs. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge John W. Hatcher Jr.
