Man claims he was injured by faulty oxygen tank, sues manufacturer, supplier

BECKLEY – A Raleigh County man is suing a manufacturer and supplier of oxygen tanks after suffering serious injuries when his tank allegedly malfunctioned.

Hanley W. McClanahan filed a lawsuit on Dec. 24 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Pioneer Medical Services Inc. and John Doe manufacturer claiming he suffered serious and permanent injuries from a product manufactured by the companies.

McClanahan claims that on Jan. 9, 2014, he was injured when his oxygen tank, which was manufactured by John Doe manufacturer and supplied by Pioneer, malfunctioned. McClanahan alleges it was negligence on behalf of both companies that led to his injuries.

McClanahan is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. McClanahan is represented by Anthony M. Salvatore of Hewitt & Salvatore in Fayetteville. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Robert A. Burnside Jr.
