MOUNDSVILLE — A Belmont County, Ohio, woman is suing the owner of a Wheeling-based taxi service and one of its drivers in a dispute involving an auto collision.

Christina L. Wendel filed a lawsuit Jan. 27 in Marshall Circuit Court against JCC LLC, doing business as JCC Transportation Services, and driver John W. Vessels Jr., alleging negligence and careless driving.

According to the complaint, Wendel was driving westbound on Center Street in Martins Ferry, Ohio, when she was struck by a taxi driven by Vessels. The suit says Vessels failed to yield the right of way while traveling southbound on North Zane Highway, causing the accident. The plaintiff claims she suffered physical injuries requiring medical expenses now and in the future.

Wendel seeks a jury trial and damages in an amount to be determined at trial, plus litigation costs. She is represented by attorney Christopher M. Turak of Gold, Khourey & Turak L.C. in Moundsville. Circuit Judge Jeffrey Cramer has been assigned to the case.
