WEBSTER SPRINGS — A Webster County woman says a logging company damaged her land by the unauthorized removal of timber.

Mildred Short filed a lawsuit March 7 in Webster Circuit Court against Lone Wolf Forest Products, Lone Wolf Natural Resource Services Inc.; its owner, Thomas Turpin; Robert Chafin Sr.; and an unnamed company.

According to the complaint, on or about March 10, 2014, the defendants or their agents entered the plaintiff’s property in Glade District without permission, cutting trees and creating roads to conduct logging operations. Short says the logging operations removed valuable timber and reduced the value of her land, damaging the remaining timber and causing subsequent flooding.

Short seeks a jury trial, compensation for her losses, treble damages for the lost timber, and litigation costs. She is represented by attorney Daniel R. Grindo of Grindo Law Office in Gassaway.

Judge Jack Alsop is assigned to the case.
