Huntington firm accuses The Insurance Store of contract breach

PRINCETON – A Huntington firm is suing an insurer, claiming it is owed $10,000 in premiums.

Bloss & Dillard Inc. filed a lawsuit March 9 in Mercer Circuit Court against The Insurance Store Inc. and one of its officers, Richard Allen, alleging breach of contract, unjust enrichment and personal guaranty.

According to the complaint, on June 5, 2003, The Insurance Store struck a deal with Bloss & Dillard, whereby The Insurance Store would procure various coverages for the plaintiff’s customers. The suit says that certain premiums obtained from policies were to be paid to Bloss & Dillard. However, the plaintiff claims its efforts to collect $10,486 The Insurance Store still owes them under the arrangement have gone unheeded.

Bloss & Dillard seeks recovery of the unpaid premiums, plus 7 percent annual interest accruing from Oct. 31, 2015. It is represented by attorney John R. Keating of Amato Keating and Lessa PC of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Judge William J. Sadler is assigned to the case.
