Raleigh Co. woman sues Jump Zone for child's injuries

Jumpzone

BECKLEY – A Clear Fork woman is suing Jump Zone LLC after she claims it is responsible for her daughter’s injuries.

On March 4, 2014, Halli Franklin was climbing the rock wall at Jump Zone in Beckley when she fell from the wall approximately ten feet to a landing, suffering a severe and permanent injury, according to a complaint filed in Raleigh Circuit Court.

Geraldine Osborne claims Franklin injured her foot and ankle when she fell and the defendant’s only remedy was to place a frozen water bottle on the child’s foot.

Franklin experienced physical pain and suffering, mental anguish and loss of enjoyment of life and incurred significant medical and hospital expenses, according to the suit.

Osborne claims the defendant had a duty and proximately caused Franklin’s injuries.

The defendant, without regard for the safety of the children who attended its play area, negligently, knowingly, recklessly and willfully failed to maintain a safe environment for the minor child and procedures to deal with the child’s injuries, according to the suit.

Osborne is seeking compensatory damages. She is being represented by Lela Walker.
