Motorist blames tractor trailer owner, driver for crash

Semi crash 03

FAYETTEVILLE — A Fayette County motorist is suing a North Carolina tractor trailer owner and a driver, alleging the defendants' negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Heather Mullins filed a lawsuit Sept. 29, in Fayette Circuit Court against AAA Trucking Inc. of Holly Spring, North Carolina, and driver Jeffrey B. Partlow of Raleigh, alleging AAA negligently entrusted the tractor trailer to Partlow.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 9, 2015, Mullins was driving an automobile on state Route 19 in Fayetteville. The suit says Partlow, operating a tractor trailer owned by AAA Trucking, negligently caused his vehicle to collide with the plaintiff's car and dragged it under the trailer.

The lawsuit states Mullins sustained serious and permanent injuries that resulted in pain, mental anguish, diminished earning capacity and medical expenses of more than $6,000. The plaintiff alleges Partlow carelessly operated the tractor trailer in such a manner as to cause it to collide with Mullins' vehicle.

Mullins seeks trial by jury, plus judgment as is justified by the evidence. She is represented by attorney Greg A. Hewitt of Hewitt & Salvatore PLLC in Fayetteville.
