Customer blames Kohl's store for injuries

WHEELING — A Wheeling woman is suing operators of a Kohl's store, alleging their negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff. 

Mary Jean Hohman filed a lawsuit Oct. 26 in Ohio Circuit Court against Jane Doe and Kohl's Illinois Inc., Kohl's failed to properly train and supervise its employees on the safety operation of storage carts.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 7, 2014, Hohman was at a Kohl's store in Triadelphia when Jane Doe caused a storage cart to collide with the plaintiff's body. The suit says Hohman suffered injuries resulting in physical, mental and emotional pain, annoyance, inconvenience and she incurred medical bills. 

The plaintiff alleges Jane Doe failed to maintain proper lookout, failed to maintain control of the storage cart and failed to exercise due care in navigating the storage cart.

Hohman seeks trial by jury, compensatory and general damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney fees and court costs, plus all relief the court deems proper. She is represented by attorneys Scott S. Blass and Meaghan L. Tague of Bordas & Bordas PLLC in Wheeling.
