Man claims Family Heritage Life Insurance denied coverage for medical expenses

Insurance 07

PINEVILLE– A Wyoming County man alleges his insurer wrongfully denied his claim for medical expenses.

Teddy Lester filed a complaint on Dec. 2 in the Wyoming Circuit Court against Family Heritage Life Insurance Co. of America alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 28, 2015, he fell inside his home and sustained severe injuries that resulted in medical treatment and four days' hospitalization. He alleges he has suffered economic damages of no less than $23,250. The plaintiff holds Family Heritage Life Insurance Co. of America responsible because the defendant allegedly denied plaintiff coverage, failed to conduct reasonable investigations and failed to pay plaintiff's multiple monetary disbursements.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for all damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorneys' fees, costs and expenses. He is represented by Timothy P. Lupardus of Lupardus Law Office in Pineville.
