MORGANTOWN — A former employee is suing the owner of a school for young children, alleging violation of workers compensation acts.

Ashley Hines filed a complaint Dec. 16 in Monongalia Circuit Court against Elite Learning & Social Center LLC, alleging violation of the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 21, 2016, Hines resigned from her employment with the defendant but she did not receive her wages earned from Sept. 10-21, 2016, on or before the next payday.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant never paid her the final wages that were due and payable.

Hines seeks trial by jury, judgment for all damages, plus interest, litigation costs and all other legal and equitable relief. She is represented by attorneys Phillip Estep, Todd S. Bailess and Rodney A. Smith of Bailess Smith PLLC in Charleston.
