Motorist blames tractor trailer owner, driver for injuries

Car accident 18

WHEELING — An Ohio motorist is suing a tractor trailer owner and driver, alleging negligence caused a crash.

Jenna Miller filed a complaint March 7 in Ohio Circuit Court against Ricardo Antonio Mendieta and Werner Enterprise Inc., alleging Mendieta failed to maintain proper control of the tractor trailer.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 18, 2016, Miller was operating a motor vehicle on Dallas Pike Road in Wheeling when Mendieta negligently operated a tractor trailer owned by Werner. The suit says Medieta caused a head-on collision with Miller's vehicle.

The lawsuit states Miller sustained severe injuries that resulted in great pain and suffering, medical expenses and lost wages. The plaintiff alleges Mendieta failed to yield right of way, failed to maintain careful lookout and failed to obey a traffic control device.

Miller seeks trial by jury, compensatory and punitive damages, interest and cost of court, and all other just relief. She is represented by attorneys Ronald W. Zavolta and Jordan M. Laird of Zavolta Law Office in Wheeling.
