RAGA’s digital ad is part of a 10-state campaign thanking attorneys general for backing Gorsuch.
“Confirming Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court is the single most important issue in America right now,” said RAGA Executive Director Scott Will. “RAGA and its members are committed to the rule of law.”
Will said it is critical to support judges who will interpret the law as written and not legislate from the bench.
“Attorney General Patrick Morrisey has done a great job speaking out in support of Neil Gorsuch, and we are thanking him for his leadership," Will said.
Morrisey previously stated that he believed Gorsuch to be a person who cares about the text of the law and cares about the U.S. Constitution.
“That is why I am very pleased to support him for the Supreme Court and urge all senators across the country to vote for this very qualified person,” Morrisey said in February.
On Jan. 31, President Trump announced his nomination for Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Gorsuch’s confirmation hearing began March 20. On April 3, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved his nomination with an 11-9 vote.
If confirmed, he would succeed the late Justice Antonin Scalia, who passed away last February.
