CLARKSBURG — A disabled Marion County woman is suing Met Life Insurance, alleging violation of workers compensation acts.
Barbara Tenney filed a complaint April 19 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia Clarksburg Division against Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. Firstenenrgy Service Co., Your Benefit Plan and Does 1-5, alleging violation of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
According to the complaint, Tenney, an employee of FirstEnergy, suffered monetary losses for not receiving long-term disability benefits and has incurred attorney fees and costs.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants wrongfully terminated her benefits and denied her rights due under the long-term disability plan.
Tenney seeks trial by jury, payment for all benefits due under the plan, plus interest, attorney fees and court costs and all other just and equitable relief. She is represented by attorney J. Patrick L. Stephens of Underwood Law Offices in Huntington.
