Coal 07

CHARLESTON — A Lincoln County couple is suing a Milton mining company, alleging negligence led to injuries for the husband.

Barry Meadows and Alice Meadows filed a complaint April 12 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Revelation Energy LLC, alleging failure to comply with the federal safety laws, rules and regulations.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 14, 2015, Barry Meadows was working at the defendant's KD Surface mine No. 2 in Kanawha when he sustained serious and permanent injuries due to a bulldozer accident on an extreme grade. The suit says Alice Meadows has suffered loss of consortium, comfort and the society of her husband.

The plaintiffs allege Revelation Energy negligently allowed an unsafe condition to exist and failed to properly maintain its equipment.

Barry and Alice Meadows seek compensatory damages, plus interest, attorney fees, court costs and expenses and all other general and proper relief. They are represented by attorneys Tony O'Dell and Cheryl Fisher of Tiano O'Dell PLLC in Charleston.
