Female employee accuses transport business of discrimination, harassment

WILLIAMSON — A Mingo County woman is suing a Raleigh County transport company, alleging gender discrimination and sexual harassment.

Angela Underwood filed a complaint April 24 in Mingo Circuit Court against KC Transport Inc., doing business as KC Transport of West Virginia Inc., and Mike Taylor, alleging they created a hostile working environment for the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, Underwood suffered damages from being sexually harassed during her employment that started in March 2016. The plaintiff alleges KC Transport and truck boss Taylor caused harmful and offensive contact to Underwood during her employment.

Underwood seeks trial by jury, injunction against the defendant, enjoin the defendant, back pay and all benefits, front pay, compensatory damages, punitive damages, interest, all legal fees and all relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Mark L. French of The Law Office of Mark L. French, PLLC in Charleston.
