CHARLESTON — A Clay County man is suing an oil field business, alleging negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff. 

Kolby Fakourey filed a complaint May 8 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Cunningham Energy, LLC, doing business as Cunningham Oilfield Services, Ryan E.M. Cunningham, and Dustin Boggs, alleging that they allowed their employees to work while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

According to the complaint, Fakourey suffered a significant injury while performing his duties due to a rigger who was under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. The plaintiff alleges the defendants unlawfully terminated Fakourey's employment as retaliation for asking about getting workers compensation coverage for his injuries.

Fakourey seeks trial by jury, damages, lost wages, benefits, back pay, front pay, punitive damages, interest, legal fees and all other just relief. He is represented by attorney Travis A. Griffith of Griffith Law Center PLLC in Charleston.
