City of Charleston accuses car wash of not paying taxes and fees

CHARLESTON — The City of Charleston is suing Fog Inc., Hanan Ghannam and Mouafak Ghannam, citing alleged violation of federal law.

The city filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court alleging that the defendants' company, Center of Town Carwash LLC, failed to pay the Business and Occupation Privilege Tax, business license fees and city service fees owed to the city.

According to the complaint, the city alleges that the defendants owe it approximately $11,300 in taxes, $5,300 in service fees and $186 in license fees. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to pay the amounts owed to the city.

The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages and any other relief this court deems just. It is represented by Peter J. Raupp of Steptoe & Johnson PLLC in Charleston.
