Owner of Twin State Barber and Beauty Supply Inc. accused of filing false police report

BECKLEY — A former employee is suing Twin State Barber and Beauty Supply Inc. and Paul L. Wykle Jr., the company's owner, for reportedly accusing her of a crime that she alleges she did not commit.

Lori Anne Payne filed a complaint in Raleigh Circuit Court alleging that the defendants filed a false police report against her.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages from being falsely charged with stealing money from her employer in 2017. Payne was allegedly fired over the accusations. During a hearing, Wykle acknowledged under oath oath he had kept fraudulent financial records. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly instituting a criminal prosecution against the her without probable cause.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks economic and compensatory damages, all compensation, legal fees, punitive damages and any other relief  this court deems just. She is represented by J. Mingo Winters of J. Mingo Winters in Beckley.
