BECKLEY – A Raleigh County man is seeking damages from the operator of a tractor-trailer after a collision in Beckley.
Scotty Emmanuel Moore filed a complaint Aug. 15 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Brittany Meadows and Schneider National Carriers Inc. alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, on Nov. 5, 2016, Meadows was operating a tractor-trailer on Robert C. Byrd Drive in Beckley and failed to stop at a red traffic light, causing her to rear-end the plaintiff's vehicle. The suit states Meadows is an employee of Schneider National Carriers.
The plaintiff holds Meadows and Schneider National Carriers Inc. responsible because Meadows failed to maintain control of her vehicle.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Dwight J. Staples of Henderson, Henderson & Staples LC in Huntington. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge H.L. Kirkpatrick III.
