Driver alleges surface of road in Weirton caused her to lose control of vehicle

Car accident 02

NEW CUMBERLAND – A Weirton resident alleges a dangerous road surface caused her to lose control of her car.

Melissa Glasure filed a complaint on Sept. 6 in the Hancock Circuit Court against city of Weirton and Kelly Paving Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 12, 2015, she was traveling east on Marland Heights Road in Weirton and sustained physical injuries when she lost control of her vehicle due to the dangerous road surface.

The plaintiff holds the city of Weirton and Kelly Paving Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly upkeep and maintain the road.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants for damages, interest, court costs, general and special damages, and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Carl A. Frankovitch of Frankovitch, Anetakis, Simon, Decapio & Pearl LLP in Weirton. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David J. Sims.
