Widow seeks information from Coronado Coal, Greenbrier Minerals

PINEVILLE – A widow is seeking information in her investigation of her husband's death at a Wyoming County mine.

Rita Sprouse, individually and as administratrix of the estate of Peter Sprouse, filed a complaint Sept. 11 in Wyoming Circuit Court against Coronado Coal LLC and Greenbrier Minerals LLC seeking injunctive relief.

According to the complaint, on Jan 4, 2016, plaintiff's husband Peter Sprouse was killed while in the course and scope of his employment with defendants' Lower War Eagle Mine when he became entangled in a moving underground belt conveyer. The plaintiff is seeking all computer belt data printouts and/or information at the mine from Jan. 3-4, 2016.

The plaintiff seeks an order requiring the defendants to provide her counsel with a copy of all data computer belt information and prohibiting defendants from altering or disposing of the information sought. She is represented by Timothy C. Bailey of Bailey Javins & Carter LC in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Warren R. McGraw.
