HUNTINGTON – A Cabell County woman alleges she suffered a broken wrist after a hose caused her to fall.

Patricia A. Lewis filed a complaint Nov. 16 in Cabell Circuit Court against SECM Co. LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 5, 2016, she was working at Cabell Health Care Center in Culloden and was outside at the time. The suit states one of the defendant's employees was also working there and was using a hose. She alleges that as she stepped over the hose, the defendant's employee lifted it at the same time, which caused her to fall and break her wrist, forearm and elbow.

The plaintiff holds SECM Co. LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to have another employee or a warning device notify other persons that the hose might be moved.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in an amount that will fairly compensate her for her losses, costs, attorney's fees, interest and such other just and proper relief. She is represented by Scott H. Kaminski of Kaminski Law PLLC in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Paul T. Farrell.
