CHARLESTON – The daughters of a late Chelyan man allege his physicians treated him with excessive opiate medication.
Ashlee R. Hull and Misty G. Adkins, individually and as co-executrixes of the estate of John Edward Hull Sr., filed a complaint Feb. 5 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Dr. Deleno H. Webb III, Eric S. Webb PLC and Area Psychiatric and Psychotherapy Group Inc. alleging medical negligence.
According to the complaint, John Edward Hull Sr. was a patient of the defendants for complaints of pain. The suit states John Edward Hull Sr. "recognized that he was addicted to pain medication and that these defendants were prescribing and requested assistance for the addiction." The suit states John Edward Hull Sr. died Jan. 7, 2016.
The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to refer John Edward Hull Sr. to other physicians who could properly treat him in a proper manner, failed to obtain a proper psychiatric assessment and failed to treat John Edward Hull Sr.'s substance dependency.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgement against the defendants, jointly and severally, for all damages, and all further relief as may be proper. They are represented by Joseph H. Spano Jr. of Pritt & Spano PLLC in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Jennifer F. Bailey.
